Description
The Armenian Museum of America in Watertown, MA, is recruiting an Administration and Development Associate to support the Executive Director and other team members in implementing an annual plan for events, exhibitions, fundraising, and membership. The ideal candidate will be able to work full-time Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours.
Office Administration
Provide support for the museum’s exhibitions and online programming.
Maintain contacts with museum vendors and oversee projects on-site.
Respond to incoming inquiries and redirect to museum team members.
Copy editing of museum communications and membership materials.
Manage Gift Shop inventory and process online orders.
Manage and organize inventory of museum and office supplies.
Process information collected from museum guest books, surveys, event signups.
Other related projects as assigned.
Fundraising & Membership
Process incoming donations, donor acknowledgment letters, and outgoing membership packets.
Send monthly membership renewal reminders and follow up with non-respondents.
Assist ED with community outreach, networking, fundraising, membership drive, and donor cultivation.
Organize, promote, and participate in the museum’s online education programs and presentations for adult and youth audiences.
Support event planning including in-person events and virtual events.
Assist with researching and writing grant applications.
Marketing & Outreach
Prepare weekly reports on memberships, donations, and museum visitors.
Coordinate updates to museum website on Squarespace and review/report on website statistics.
Report on visitor statistics and social media analytics (mainly Facebook/Instagram).
Support marketing team with monthly press releases, calendar listings, and up-to-date media contact lists.
Work with staff and designers in production and distribution of printed promotional materials and direct mail campaigns.
Qualifications
B.A. or equivalent required.
Administrative skills in an office, museum, or non-profit organization preferred.
Excellent writing and customer service skills, and attention to detail.
Highly motivated, results-oriented self-starter, enthusiastic to take initiative, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proactive in planning and organizing projects.
Excellent computer skills, proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with graphic design and image software.
Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple tasks.
High standards of credibility, integrity, reliability, and confidentiality.
Familiarity with the Armenian community and language is a plus, but is not required.
