Duo Recital with Haig Hovsepian and Matias Cuevas
Haig Hovsepian, an Armenian-American violinist praised as “one of the most gifted musicians of his generation” (violinist, Ilya Kaler), embarked on his musical journey at a notably young age. By four, he was playing the violin; by eight, the Sh’vi (Armenian fipple flute); and by eleven, the saxophone. This early start in diverse instruments reflects his traditional classical training, Armenian heritage, and American jazz influences, contributing to his versatile artistry.
Chilean-American Pianist, Matias Nestor Cuevas, has been pursuing his Master of Music degree in piano performance at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami with Kevin Kenner since 2023. He earned his Undergraduate degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Dr. Daniel Shapiro and previously studied under the guidance of Vincenzo Balzani and Silvia Rumi at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Music in Milan, Italy.

Naregatsi Folk Ensemble Online Concert
Our next online concert, which was produced and recorded in Armenia this summer, features the Naregatsi Folk Ensemble. The performance will be streamed on Sunday, August 25 at 1:00 pm. The Naregatsi Ensemble was founded by Nareg Hartounian under the auspices of his Naregatsi Art Institute.
The Ensemble was founded to introduce the riches of traditional music and instruments to young musicians in the spirit of preserving and growing Armenia’s national culture. It has performed in many countries including Armenia, Switzerland, and France. The current Artistic Director is Composer/Musician Artem Khachatur.

Dudukner Ensemble & Arahet Choir Online Concert
The Dudukner Ensemble was founded in 1998 by prominent duduk player Georgy Minasov (Minasyan). Minasov has masterfully created a full array of duduks including soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass with a vision to develop the duduk beyond its traditional range and sound.
The Arahet Choir was founded in 2003 under the auspices of the Youth Center of Art and Education of the Ministry of Science and Education. The founder and artistic director, Tatyana Minasyan, is a graduate of the Choir Department of the Komitas State Conservatory.

Yerevan String Quartet Online Concert
Yerevan String Quartet was created in 2017 with the joint efforts of Narek Sahakyan and Mikael Navasardyan to develop the quartet genre and chamber music art in Armenia. During its activity the quartet has performed in the best concert halls of Armenia, and also in charity concerts and corporate events.

Ethno Colors Online Concert
Join us on Sunday, February 11 at 1:00 pm EST as we kick off our first concert of the year and 19th online concert in our online concert series. You won't want to miss the eclectic sounds and rich folk melodies of the 10-piece band of Ethno Colors. From its creation, the group has become a bridge between traditional Armenian music and sounds from the present day.

Children's Choir, Folk Orchestra & Chamber Orchestra of the Stepan Jrbashyan Music School
Stay tuned for our 18th online concert featuring the Yerevan Music School Choir named after Stepan Jrbashyan (Choir director Mamikon Andreasyan) which has won a number of national and international prizes at the Gyumri "Renaissance" and "Art-Music" international competition festivals, as well as at the "On the Wings of Music" held in Samara won an honorable first-class prize in the competition.

The Katil Band
Our 17th Online Concert features an exclusive performance by The Katil Band.
Immerse yourself in a virtual concert with Katil, one of Armenia’s standout bands. Named 'Water-drop' in English, Katil blossomed in Yerevan in 2017, reigniting Armenian Indie-folk music passion among the youth. With members hailing from varied Armenian regions, each adds a distinct flavor to their sound. Delight in Grigor Kartashyan’s woodwind melodies, Grigor Davtyan's rhythmic beats, Sevada Hambarchyan's soulful vocals, and Robert Simonyan’s deep bass lines. Let Katil take you on a musical journey, intertwining cultures and showcasing Armenia's rich musical heritage.

Our 16th Online Concert features an exclusive performance by composer and pianist Mher Samvelyan. This concert marks the world premiere of Mher's original compositions which incorporate the Aria Children's Choir, strings, blul, and kanun. Khachik Sahakyan and the Reprise Band
The Armenian Museum of America is announcing its 15th Online Concert featuring an exclusive concert by Khachik Sahakyan and the Reprise Band.
Inspired by Armenian music and western Jazz, Khachik Sahakyan has performed in Armenia and around the world for four decades. Influenced by fusion artists like Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock, Sahakyan pays homage to folk music and the experimental currents running throughout jazz.

The Nairyan Vocal Ensemble Live Concert
We're co-sponsoring our first live concert in years and it's a multi-city event! The Nairyan Vocal Ensemble is doing an 8-city tour presented by the Amaras Art Alliance. The Cambridge performance is May 7 and we hope to see you there!
Harutyun Chkolyan's Armenian Folk Ensemble
The Armenian Museum of America is announcing its 14th Online Concert featuring an exclusive concert by the Harutyun Chkolyan's Armenian Folk Ensemble. The concert will be shown online on Sunday, March 5th.
The Harutyun Chkolyan Folk Ensemble has been performing traditional folk music in Armenia and several other countries since 2020. Harutyun Chkolyan plays with the Armenian State Philharmonic Folk-Modern National Instruments Ensemble and teaches at the Komitas State Conservatory. He has toured in more than 35 countries was once welcomed by the late Senator Edward J. Kennedy to the Massachusetts State House. He performed with Grammy-nominated singer Joss Stone during her tour stop in Armenia, and last year he became a member of the renowned Naghash Ensemble.

The David Melkonyan Group (Online Concert on Armenian Christmas)
This popular band was founded by saxophonist Davit Melkonyan in 2019 and their repertoire comprises songs from older and modern Armenian composers. The songs are often rearranged to blend with the group’s unique style, while maintaining the traditional principles and aesthetics of the originals. This gives new life and popularity to Armenian pop or jazz tunes that are sometimes forgotten or underperformed. The Davit Melkonyan Group is one of the most accomplished and sought-after performers in Armenia.

Live Concert with Norayr Kartashyan & The Menua Band
This is our 12th Online Concert, performed in Armenia exclusively for the Museum! The band features Norayr Kartashyan (duduk, pku) along with Levon Arakelyan (cello), Erik Avagyan (duduk, alto sariduduk), Grigor Davtyan (percussion), Grigor Kartashyan (blul, bass sariduduk, bagpipe), and Vasil Sahakyan (duduk). Kartashyan has collaborated with a number of artists including Tigran Hamasyan, Arto Tuncboyacıyan, and the Katuner Band.
This concert was recorded and produced in Armenia by Daniel Ayriyan, and it is free thanks to a generous grant from the Dadourian Foundation.
Live with the Komitas Quartet
This concert features an exclusive performance by the Komitas Quartet of Yerevan. Founded in 1924, Komitas is the oldest-established string quartet still performing today. The performers are Eduard Tadevosyan (violin), Syuzi Yeritsyan (violin), Alexander Kosemyan (viola), and Anzhela Sargsyan (cello).

Khachaturian & Liszt Performed by Kariné Poghosyan
Our 10th Online Concert features a solo recital by Kariné Poghosyan, who performs works by Aram Khachaturian and Franz Liszt.
Award-winning pianist Kariné Poghosyan had her orchestral debut at age 14. Her recent concerts include sold-out recitals at Carnegie Hall, the second of which was a CD release of her Rachmaninoff and Stravinsky recording on Centaur Records. Gramophone Magazine praised the recording as “masterly textural layering and resounding climaxes” while the American Record Guide stated: “a more heroic program would be hard to find, and few could play as well as the Armenian-American Poghosyan.” Our Online Concert series is free, thanks to a generous grant from the Dadourian Foundation.
The Armenian Museum Presents: The Artyom Manukyan Quartet
Our 9th online concert is an exclusive performance by the Artyom Manukyan Quartet! This Armenia-based jazz ensemble features Arman Mnatcakanyan (drums), Arman Peshtmaljyan (keyboards), Karen Mamikonyan (keyboards), and Artyom Manukyan (cello). Cellist Artyom Manukyan first made his name as a musician in his native Armenia and traveled the world as the youngest member of the BBC World Music Award-winning Armenian Navy Band. This concert series is supported by a generous grant from the Dadourian Foundation.
Online Christmas Concert Live from the Museum
This Christmas Concert was recorded live at the Museum and is the 8th in our concert series featuring the Nor Trio and the Sargis Karapetyan and Friends String Quartet. They perform a selection of Armenian and Christmas songs. Some of the works include Scherzo by Komitas and Arno Babajanian’s Nocturne, as well as Silent Night, Joy to the World, and Winter Wonderland. The String Quartet is Sargis Karapetyan (violin), Armen Ghazaryan (violin), Cherry Kim (cello), and Oleg Soloviev (viola). The Nor Trio is Sargis Karapetyan (violin), Andrei Sobchenko (alto saxophone), and Nune Hakobyan (piano). The concert is sponsored by generous grant from the Dadourian Foundation.
The TUMO Band presented by the Armenian Museum of America
The Armenian Museum of America presents the seventh in its Online Concert Series, “The TUMO Band.” The performance features young vocalists and musicians from the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, a free education center for teens specializing in technology and design. The TUMO Band is led by Arik Grigoryan, a member of the popular rock band Bambir. This concert is sponsored by a generous grant from the Dadourian Foundation.
The Armenian Museum Presents: Past Meets Present
The Armenian Museum presents the sixth in its Online Concert Series, “Past Meets Present.” The performance features the young shvi player David Harutyunyan and Levon Babayan on dhol, accompanied by pianist Lusine Karapetyan. The trio performs traditional Armenian songs in a video recorded in Armenia exclusively for the Museum. The virtual concert is sponsored by a generous grant from the Dadourian Foundation.

This month we are featuring Armenian sopranos, Hasmik Meikhanedjian, Alvard Mayilyan, and Anahit Zakaryan. They will be accompanied by pianist and composer Hayk Arsenyan. The concert, “Kez het Hayastan” (With You, Armenia!), is dedicated to Armenia. This concert series is supported by a generous grant from the Dadourian Foundation, and it is curated exclusively for the Armenian Museum audience by artistic director Maestro Konstantin Petrossian, who is a composer and conductor.
The Armenian Museum of America's Christmas Concert
This month we are featuring a holiday concert recorded exclusively for the Armenian Museum! Recorded in Armenia, we are honored to “host” the Yerevan State Chamber Choir, founded by the late Harutyun Topikyan, and recognized as one of the most distinguished ensembles in Armenia. The performance was led by Kristina Voskanyan, chief choirmaster and William Weiner, choir director. A special thank you to Maestro Konstantin Petrossian for curating this series, and to the continued support of the Dadourian Foundation, without which we would be unable to bring you this wonderful concert.
