2 Yergir, by Hrair "Hawk" Khatcherian
An illustrated journey through Western Armenia by Hrair "Hawk" Khatcherian. "2 Yergir" contains hundreds of photographs of Armenian churches, khatchkars, and landscapes in Historic Western Armenia and Cilicia. These photographs are supplemented by essays from researchers, clergy, and other leaders in the Armenian community, including an introduction by mathematician and historian Claude Mutafian. Written in English, French, and Armenian, this book measures 29 x 38 cm (11.4 x 15 in) across 240 pages of material.
A globe-trotter and a pilgrim, Khatcherian dedicated himself to photographing Armenia's cultural heritage after surviving lung cancer in 1993. He has been to 44 countries over the last three decades, documenting Armenian monuments, mostly churches, around the world. Khatcherian has published several books of photography, including Karabagh: 100 Photos (2002), Armenia Heaven on Earth (2018), and Artsakh: The Photographer's Eye! (2023).
