Third Thursdays! The Armenian Museum presents: Dr. Lilit Artemyan in Concert

Please join us at the Armenian Museum as we welcome Dr. Lilit Artemyan, virtuoso pianist and musicologist. In honor of the 150th anniversary of his birth, Dr. Artemyan will give a brief presentation on Gomidas Vardabet, followed by a performance of Gomidas’ songs, as well as unpublished songs by Dikran Chukhadjian, and pieces from other Armenian classical composers. 

Dr. Artemyan was born in Yerevan and began playing the piano at the age of two. She began her formal musical education at four and since then has won awards at national and international piano competitions, been the recipient of scholarships, graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory and received her PhD of Arts from the Institute of National Arts of National Academy of Science, Armenia. Dr. Artemyan successfully combines her pianist performing activities with scientific activity. She is a senior researcher at the Institute of Arts of the NAS RA, Member of the Dissertation Council of Art Studies of the Supreme Certifying Committee of the RA, Deputy Director of the Council of Young Art Critics of the Institute of Arts of the NAS RA, and member of the Composers’ Union of Armenia. Following her performance at the Armenian Museum, Dr. Artemyan will be performing at Carnegie Hall on September 22nd.
